Intevac has released the design of a “plug and play” digital image intensifier (DI2) module specifically designed for integration into imaging systems such as head/helmet-mounted displays, rifle sights and small EO/IR surveillance gimbals. The module incorporates an SXGA (1280 x 1024 pixels) electron bombarded CMOS sensor, high voltage power supply, low voltage power supply, and flash memory (containing image correction parameters), all potted into a connectorized housing for reliability and environmental ruggedness.
The module can be produced in variety of configurations, with or without Intevac-supplied video processing electronics, to facilitate integration into a wide range of compact imaging systems.
