Buyer/Planner (contract position -7months)
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for requisition process, form negotiation to RFQs and reviewing requisition and contract prior to executing the buying
- Plan and make tactical buying decisions and execute purchasing strategies
- Ensure materials purchased are according with company's purchasing policies and procedures
- Establish good relationships with vendors to ensure strong support to meet the company's demand
- Review with vendors on parts quality issues and ensure that corrective and preventative actions are taken care of by vendors
- Handle escalation such as parts shortages to meet and fulfill customer satisfaction
- Plan, negotiate and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts in order to support production build
- Support daily material/production planning/coordination and shop floor scheduling
- Plan for production which includes releasing of work orders and ensuring on-time delivery of shipments based on customer requirements
- Optimize loading capacity and monitor movement of finished goods so as to minimize retention period of finished goods shipments
- Monitor and coordinate on materials shortages, expediting and ensuring material availability to support production plan
- Drive and minimize excess and obsolescence inventory
- Assist in developing and improving existing processes and procedures
Job Requirements
- BA in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, preferably with Planning and Buying experience
- Knowledge of supply chain and materials flow concept desirable
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook and experience in ERP system (such as Oracle, SAP) is highly desirable
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player, self-driven and able to work under pressure with sense of urgency
