Electronics Engineer – HW Design and Verification

Position Overview

We are seeking a team-oriented, self-driven individual with a keen technical mind and an eye for detail.  Intevac Photonics is comprised of engineers who have a detailed understanding of hardware engineering and systems with embedded software. We operate in a fast-paced, highly technical R&D environment.  You will be expected to explore new technologies and product concepts and will architect new products plus bring enhancement to our current product lines staying abreast of new technologies and techniques.

Primary Job Duties

• Mixed circuit design and verification including bring up, troubleshooting, debug, updates, schematic design and device selection
• Complex electronic troubleshooting of embedded designs
• Work closely with FPGA group, embedded SW group, mechanical design group and manufacturing engineering.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

You should have 2+ years of experience as a designer of products with analog, digital with embedded software content:

• Experienced with complete product design cycle: circuit design, schematic capture, logic design, layout and PCB validation.
• Signal Integrity and Termination Techniques, Impedance Control, Stack-up, Isolation and Noise Control and EMI Containment.
• Measurement Techniques (oscilloscope, logic, network analyzer)
• Filters/Amplifiers Design, AD Converter Operation /Selection, BW, Noise, Dynamic Range
• Cable Design, EMI Containment and System Grounding Techniques
• Self-motivated results-oriented individual with strong work ethic:

• § Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision
• § Ability to learn from the other engineers on your team.

Minimum Requirements

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Permanent Residency required, US Citizenship is preferred
