FPGA Development Engineer
Position Overview
FPGA Logic Design Engineer with over 5 + years of experience developing high speed digital logic designs in a disciplined development environment. Ability to design, simulate and validate on hardware various image processing and interface functional blocks. Experience in writing modular, an easily replicated parameterized, low-power design blocks and test benches in multiple clock domains. Perform design of state-of-the-art advanced video FPGAs , implementing complex and high-performance video signal chains. Candidate will be required to follow Intevac's logic development guidelines.
Required Experience
- Tools : Knowledge of Verilog is a must. Excellence in Altera Quartus II tool, Mentor Graphic - ModelSim. Additionally, ability to work with VHDL designs. Familiar with TCL script.
- Interfaces : Integration experience of any two of the following interfaces in Altera FPGA - TI EMIF Interface, DDR SDRAM, USB2.0.
- SoC: Experience with integrating processor, DDR SDRAM controller in Altera FPGAs and integrating various Asynchronous FIFOs in multiple clock domains.
Candidate Should Have
- Solid theoretical Video and Image processing understanding as well as strong simulation/coding and implementation background.
- Ability to debug a highly complex architecturaldesign on simulation and in a real hardware.
- Ability to provide leadership for overall FPGA integration efforts.
- Very strong LAB experience using scopes and logic analyzers
- Ability to meet project delivery requirements.
Highly Desirable Experience
- BSEE or MSEE, plus 5+ years experience
- FPGA: Altera Cyclone family and Altera Stratix III
- SoC: Experience in integrating processors including Altera NIOSII processor, and following interfaces TI EMIF Interface, DDR SDRAM, USB2.0, Camera Link, Gigabit Ethernet, NTSC, PCI, LCDs, etc.
- Tools: Altera Quartus Tool flow such as TimeQuest, SignalTap, PowerPlay Power Analyzer. Verilog/System Verilog Assertions based verification.
- Ability to work sometimes individually or as part of a small team
- To be motivated, goal oriented, quality conscious and to have a positive attitude
- Excellent laboratory skills, written and communication skills
- Permanent Resident required at minimum
