Understand the 200L PVD sputter deposition hardware and be able to install, troubleshoot and perform preventative, corrective, minor and major repairs and upgrades in support of tool uptime requirements. Independently install, commission and troubleshoot 200L including retrofit and upgrade at customer site. This includes his ability to resolve problems with company’s interest and achieving customer satisfaction.

 

Requirements

• Engineer is required to travel, both local and overseas. He / She is also expected to report promptly on the development of his fieldwork and issues to his supervisor. Look up parts, order and install parts as needed on 200L and other Intevac tools to include lubers and 250B. To handle defective parts replacement (under Intevac’s warranty) for customer.
• At times, Engineer is required to liaise with other equipment vendor to resolve defective part. Engineer is also responsible to keep track of the defective and replacement parts. Understand the fundamentals of Physical Vapor Deposition, Vacuum Systems, and the metrology associated with deposition of thin magnetic and non-magnetic metallic films. Interface with customers from Seagate and other companies, (external customers) as well as internal customers and vendors. Effectively convey ideas and technical observations to resolve engineering issues. Strive for root cause analysis, identification, and long term fixes in every engineering activity.
• Provide technical phone support as required. This includes communicating with Intevac Inc. and customer on technical issue. Engineer is required to provide 24hrs standby support for customer on a rotational basis.
• Assist in packing of part for delivery and sending of part to customer under emergency case. In addition, he is to assist in getting Delivery Order endorsed at customer store.
• Assist in stock take for both internal and external audit. To ensure parts availability for service support through reviewing minimum stock quantity. To assist in stock receiving and store administration.
• Work effectively and cooperation with other Engineers, Leads and the Office Manager on technical and administrative issues.
