Mechanical Engineer - MTS

Position Overview

Work as a leading member of a design team to develop new mechanical designs. Create 3D cad concept models. Work with assigned designers to create or revise detail drawings and BOM's. Create and submit ECO's.

Primary Responsibilities

• Mechanical Engineering
• o Create concepts for mechanical systems from specifications.
• o Design transport mechanisms and machined components to be used in high vacuum equipment products.
• o Research and find OEM components that meet project specification.
• o Build functional prototypes, including testing/troubleshooting.
• o Perform required Mechanical Engineering calculations
• o Create 3D models and part drawings that use GD&T when required.
• o Conduct design review sessions.
• o Create and submit Engineering Change Orders.
• o Work with design team to create, test and document new designs.
• Manufacturing Support
• o Work with the materials and manufacturing groups to:
• § Resolve problems with assembly, test and procurement.
• § Ensure design meets cost target and project development timeline.

Education and Experience

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• 10+ years of experience.
• Vacuum systems experience is required.
• Experience with low particle mechanisms used in semiconductor manufacturing is required.
