Electrical Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a team-oriented individual with a positive attitude and excellent problem solving skills, self-driven with keen technical mind and an eye for detail.
You will work in a group, which performs advanced development and executes system architecture of Scientific and Military Imaging products. The Imaging Division is comprised of engineers who have a detailed understanding of hardware engineering and systems with embedded software. We operate in a fast-paced, highly technical R&D environment.
You will be expected to explore new technologies and product concepts and will architect new products plus bring enhancement to our current product lines staying abreast of new.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Design creativity - High speed digital and analog signal design for small-signal, low-noise, low-power systems.
- PCB board schematic design, device selection, simulation, analysis and layout control.
- CCD and CMOS Imagers implementation
- Documentation and support for creation of PCB functional test methods and fixtures for manufacturing
- Participation in FPGA coding, simulation and verification using Verilog
- Perform problem investigation and resolution and various other analyses and simulations as defined. Conduct Board debug and Electronic troubleshooting.
- Interface with mechanical designers to optimize packaging, anage thermal issues, and optimize performance
Essential Knowledge and Skills
5+ years of experience as a designer of systems with analog, digital with embedded software content. Here are the specifics of what we need to see in your work experience:
- Must have a working experience in circuit design, schematic capture, discrete component, and board level design, layout and PCB validation.
- Must understand Design for Manufacturability and design for EMI/ESD agency requirements.
- Signal Integrity and Termination Techniques, Impedance Control, Stack-up, Isolation and Noise Control and EMI Containment.
- Analog Design, Miniaturization and Noise Reduction Techniques
- Cable Design, EMI Containment and System Grounding Techniques
- Analytical and Spice Simulation, Documentation
- Proficiency with OrCAD, PSpice, PADS, Matlab tools
- Firmware Design, Simulation and Implementation
- Verilog HDL and Testbenches Generation/Simulation
- Synchronous, Asynchronous Bus Structures
- Memory and Processor Interfacing Techniques for Time Critical Real-Time Applications
- Embedded Video Pipeline Processing and Math Operations
- Synthesis Issues, Timing analysis and I/O Management
- Proficiency with Altera, Xilinx, ModelSim tools
- Programming in C.
- Self-motivated results-oriented individual with strong work ethic:
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision and drive the electrical design from concept, thru manufacture and debug, to operational Ability to learn from the other engineers on your team.
- BS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Prior experience with camera systems and imagers desired
- Prior work for a manufacturing company a plus
- Prior work with CCD and CMOS sensors is preferred
- Understanding of optical and mechanical design a plus
- US Citizenship required
