Position Overview

Product development engineer with a concentration in control system design and support including software development.

Work with internal cross-disciplinary teams and directly with customers to access and document new feature requirements.
Use modern software development methodologies to design and implement these new features.
Drive software engineering efforts toward mature (CMMI) software processes.
Work with customers and field service to configure, install, test and troubleshoot new control system elements.
Travel is expected to be less than 50%, however trips of durations of 2 - 4 weeks may be required.
Document lessons learned, software defect alerts, troubleshooting tips, and software patch information in the form of bulletins and knowledge base entries.

Thorough knowledge of ANSI C++, M.S. Visual Studio 6 and .NET, Java or C#, and object oriented programming, including UML.
Background in several, and the ability and will to learn all of the following technologies are required: database schemata design, UI design, software application architecture, data acquisition electronics, fieldbus automation protocols, robotics / motion control, high-vacuum system, high-voltage electrical systems, and RF electrical systems.

Ability to work in a clean room.
Must be able to travel to Asia (including China, Taiwan, Korea, and Singapore) and without restriction. U.S. and Singapore passports satisfy this requirement; other passports must be examined on a case-by-case basis.
Expected Travel: approx 10% - 20%

Required Years of Experience: 3 - 10 years - software engineering experience required.
Semiconductor, hard-disk or semi-conductor manufacturing experience a plus.
Bachelors degree required, Applicable technical Master a plus.
