DLS-100

The DLS 100 is a gravity drain disk lubrication system for uniformly lubricating disks in a temperature controlled, low vibration, and contamination free environment with minimal solvent loss.

Disk lubrication is the manufacturing step that immediately follows vacuum deposition. During lubrication, a microscopic layer of lubricant is applied to the disk's surface to improve durability and reduce surface friction between the disk and the read/write head assembly.

The DLS-100’s patented parabolic upper tank design allows for a constant departure velocity of the solution across the disk surface, ensuring lubricant uniformity to +/-1 angstrom. The fluid drain process eliminates mechanical vibration. The system uses several mechanisms to prevent evaporative loss of expensive solvent, limiting solvent loss to less than 3 liters per day. Electro-polished stainless steel construction and Teflon seals reduce contamination by external sources.

The DLS-100 is equipped with a safety interlock system that is compliant with SEMI S2 standards. Touchscreen interface and PLC control make operating the system easy and intuitive. Gas springs for the lower tank lid make it much easier to open during refills, requiring less than a 5lb force.
